FounderFuego FounderFuel Newsletter Brings the Fire

My name is Amber Tarrac and I am the Founder of FounderFuego aka la "Mujer in Charge". As an expert with over two decades of experience connecting companies and nonprofits with resources, I was tired of boring business newsletters that did not offer content en español, so I set out to create something new, fresh, and informative con sabor. I was so tired, in fact, that I quit my job and the FounderFuel newsletter was officially born.

I am a bilingual Latinx (Latin American origin, gender-neutral/nonbinary alternative to Latino/a) entrepreneur who put together an experienced team of Latinx and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs driven by the bold mission to empower others like us to access capital, leverage authenticity and experience to inspire others, and create equitable access to opportunities.

Meet the FounderFuego Team:

Learn more about our team here:

What makes this different is our team's lived experience and understanding the communities we serve. We're talking resources in English and Spanish and knowledge to empower our communities to get a bigger piece of the economic pie. We're talking about moving the needle in key areas, including increasing the amount of venture capital and nonprofit funding awarded to black and brown founders.

Speaking of founders, I am proud of my legacy in a family of entrepreneurs and artists. From my father, who emigrated to the United States from Mexico City and started a small business to my sister-in-law, who emigrated from Brazil and started a small laser engraving business during the pandemic (shout out to Tarrac Laser Creations!), we honor the contributions of Hispanic and BIPOC business owners and feel an innate drive to support them.

Find out more about my family's history of entrepreneurship in the arts that started in Barcelona y México in English y español aquí:

FounderFuel will share inspiring stories from Latinx and BIPOC entrepreneurs, so stay tuned for more. In the meantime, I will leave you with these nuggets of wisdom that you will hear from all of our featured entrepreneurs pa' que sepas we are a community here to support you.

Where do you get your FounderFuel from?

Entrepreneurship is a tough and rewarding path - it's important to renew and take care of yourself along the way. Take a moment to pause and acknowledge how far you have come, whether it was the small win of connecting your domain to your website hosting platform (don't get me started!) or landing that million-dollar deal (we'll celebrate juntos when that happens!), each of these steps are important building blocks to success.

If you could leave readers with one piece of advice about entrepreneurship, what would it be?

Ask for help. From troubleshooting that domain connection to tools, resources, and knowledge, there is a whole community around you ready and willing to help. Invest in building and maintaining your network and be there for your network when they need your help too. Our network es nuestra comunidad.

If you could ask readers to do one thing right now after reading this article, what would it be?
